Fit Meals and Recipes / Lentil Soup
« Last post by Nunu on January 11, 2012, 06:21:38 pm »
Step 1:  Soak lentil (brown ones not the kitcheri ones) in one cup of water
Step 2:  Cut one onion
Step 3:  Chop up or blend 5 cloves of fresh garlic
Step 4:  Chop up any vegetables you want to add to the soup:  I added celery and carrots
Step 5:  In a separate pot then the lentils put in 1 table spoon of olive oil
Step 6:  Add the onions, garlic, and vegetables, some salt for flavor, corriander leaves--and stir fry
Step 7:  Now add the lentil to the pot and 2 cups of water
Step 8:  Cook everything for 45 minutes
Step 9:  Serve and eat :O)

Exercise questions/discussion / Re: some health tips i picked up over the years

I like the tips. I think the biggest mistake people make is when they eat something unhealthy and just say "screw it, i'll start over tomorrow". Alot of damage can be done to your diet in one day. If you have a bad meal, move on and forget it ever happened. And never do it again.

Also, my tip that I'd give is Mio.

All I drink right now is water and milk. I get tired of that really quick.

Mio is a drink flavoring for water.

This stuff has zero calories, zero sugar, and tastes pretty good. My favorite is Peach Iced Tea. Just add it to your water and you're done.

Some days, when I go over my calorie limit, I just count those calories for the next day, so I just eat less. It also helps me manage what to eat better.

Also, If we're all on diets, I wouldn't drink protein shakes unless you have excess calories to eat at the end of the day and you're not hungry. Keeps you full longer.

I like tip #6 the best.

On a side note when I ready Toy Story to Isa at night---he says he is Buzz Lightyear and Ammar is Woody :)

Hey Nayyara,

You should definitely put up the video of your workout.

And that is extremely impressive that you did 2 workouts and wife/mom duties---good motivation for the rest of us.
